Highlighting continued interest in its growing portfolio of global brands, Wyndham Hotel Group announced the opening of new Ramada Encore hotels in the South Korean cities of Seoul and Pyeongtaek.
Built against the backdrop of the country’s continuous transformation of its cities into technology hubs, the newly opened Ramada Encore Seoul Magok and Ramada Encore Pyeongtaek are expected to meet growing visitor demand in both cities, particularly from business travellers.
Wyndham now has 23 hotels representing 5,218 rooms across South Korea, all of which operate under the Ramada and Days Inn brand flag. They are located in the cities of Seoul, Incheon, Gangwon, Gunsan and Jeju Island.
“South Korea has long been a country of focus to expand our brands through franchise opportunities thanks to its innovative economy, highly industrialised cities and sought-after destinations,” said Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director, Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim.
Due to the growing popularity of the country’s smart cities among business travellers and investors, the debut of these hotels comes at a pivotal time to provide more venues for meetings and conferences in emerging destinations such as Magok and Pyeongtaek.
Mr Robinson added, “Our Ramada Encore brand provides convenience for business-related conferences and events with its modern and ergonomically designed business hubs, and is perfectly suited for the emerging midscale market.”
Located southwest of Seoul, the 12-storey Ramada Encore Seoul Magok has 228 rooms equipped with king, twin and single beds, specifically designed for families and business travellers. The hotel features an all-day dining restaurant, meeting rooms, a fitness centre and business hub.
Owned by Urbanus Partners Co., Ltd., the hotel is conveniently located close to some of Seoul’s world-class shopping and dining precincts, as well as GIMPO International Airport and notable landmarks such as Gyongin Ara Waterway and Mokdong Stadium.
Located in Gyeonggi province, the 302-room Ramada Encore Pyeongtaek – owned by Grand Palace Corporation Co., Ltd. – caters mostly to business travellers due to its close proximity to complexes in which global telecommunications companies will soon be operating.
The hotel boasts state-of-the-art meeting rooms, deluxe guestrooms, suites with views of Seohae Grand Bridge and an all-day dining restaurant featuring both local and international dishes.
